Press release: Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK)

To the media and public opinion:
Through out the month of August to this day, the Islamic Republic of
Iran continues its vicious military attacks and shelling of the people
of Kurdistan and the Free Life Party of Kurdistan (PJAK).
Iran aims are to destabilize Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq, to
eliminate the existence of PJAK and PKK forces in Qandil mountain and
to replace them by Ansar Al-Islam a branch of Al Qaeda organization.
Ansar Al Islam, supported and trained by Iran is lunching a sabotage
operations in Penjwin and Sulymania area to destabilize Kurdistan
federation in Iraq. Turkey is to give military and political support to
Iran. Foreign minister of Turkey Abdullah Gül voiced his support for a
cross-border operation by Iran into Iraq.
Iran started its military operation as a regular maneuver, but the
target is Iraqi Kurdistan as the only stable region in Iraq and PJAK
forces.
On August 12, 2007, Iranian forces attacked PJAK units in Astangi vally
inside Iran, five Iranian solders were killed and many other wounded.
On August 13, Iranian forces lunched an attack and barbaric artillery
shelling at Qandil mountains from the Iranian-Iraqi borders of
Piranshahr for several hours causing damages to villages and civilian
in the area. Large number of civilians left their villages for safety.
On August 16, Iran military forces started its attack and shelling of
the areas of Marado, Sure Gle, Shnawe, Dolakoke and the surrounding
villages. On the same day PJAK forces shout down a military helicopter
in Bardenaz area in the province of Piranshahr. Six Iranian
revolutionary guards on the helicopter were killed and 20 Iranian
solders were killed by PJAK fighters during this attack.
On the morning of August 18, Iranian forces and PJAK fighters clashed
in Mergesir and Shekh Ayshe provinces, 5 Iranian solders were killed.
On the afternoon at 12.30 the Iranian forces attacked Qandil mountain
areas again, 4 Iranian solders were killed and 4 wounded during the
fight.
On August 22, according to media reports that Iranian helicopters
dropped leaflets warning Kurds in the KRG to abandon their villages
ahead of a planned attack. The continues shelling of the border areas
of Razga, Maradu, and Shnawa villages in Pishdar district of Sulaimani
governorate, Qaladiza district and the leaflet, more than 3,000 Kurdish
civilian left their home for safe areas inside Iraqi Kurdistan. At
least 3 civilian in Suradeh district were wounded.
Iranian fascist authorities arrested 13 Kurdish people from Iran and
sentenced 3 of them to death for supporting PJAK. They have been
executed immediately after Urmiya court death decision.
On August 23, Iran masses large scale of troops including tanks,
armored vehicles, and long-range artillery. They have been deployed
along the Iranian borders of Iraqi Kurdistan and continually shelling
the areas of Haji Omran, Qandil Mountai, Qala Diza and other borders
areas.
Military clashes between PJAK fighters and the Iranian army are
continuing daily.
In retaliation PJAK freedom fighters expanded the battle field areas
and attacked the Iranian forces in Meriwan province, Pawe and Sanandaj
city province .
PJAK units attacked an Iranian army base in Powe city. Seven Iranian
solders were killed in this attack. PJAK units inside Iran killed a
high ranking Iranian intelligence officer who committed war crimes
against the Kurdish people.
On August 24, The Iranian army shelled Kurdish villages on the borders
with Iran near Penjwin. According to the Kurdish authorities in
Penjween the attacks killed some residents and left villages and farms
burned to the ground. Iran artillery shelled several areas of Kurdistan
region including: Kodo, Bardunaz, Kani Qutaf, Kalkash and Chawi Hawa.
Also, Militiant forces in Sidakan arrested 3 Iranian intelligence
agents. They came to Snin village on Motorcycle.
August 30: People’s Defense forces (HRK) of PJAK military dispatch for
the months of August:
During the month of August 2007, The Islamic Republic of Iran bombarded
the following areas Inside Iran and Kurdistan Regional Government
(Iraq): Khwakurk, Khnere, Lolan, Keleshin, Haci Omeran, Mergesir, Doli
Shekh Ayshe, the border of Mirawe (Sardasht), Zale, the Asos mountain,
Pincwin, Sorin mountain and the villages in Kandil mountain.
Civilian casualties: A child in the area of Khnere , a woman in
Qaladiza district and three men in Asos mountains were wounded. About
2,000 families have left their villages and homes seeking safety inside
Kurdistan Regional Government safe areas.
Property damages: large number of houses were burned and damaged,
thousands of cattle were killed, large area of forest and fields were
burned.
Iranian forces lunched 13 large scale military operations against
People’s Defense Forces.
Results of the fighting and clashes between Iranian military and PJAK
forces:
Iranian solders killed: 113
Contra guerrillas Killed: 5
Solders wounded: 31
Helicopters shot down: 1
Military vehicles: 6 military vehicles and one bulldozer were
destroyed.
None of PJAK fighters killed or wounded.
Turkish solders have been seen among the Iranian forces by civilian
villagers.
The clashes between Iranian forces, PJAK forces and PKK forces in
Kurdistan region areas are persisting and intensifying.
WE, PJAK members and supporters will continue to defend our Kurdish and
Iranian people against the Iranian regime atrocities. With the support
of the people, we will continue our struggle for democracy, freedom,
peace and to defeat the Iranian military Islamic regime.
PJAK aims are to unite the Kurdish and Iranian opposition, change the
Islamic regime in Iran and to establish a Democratic Republic
Confederation of Iran.
We, condemn the Iranian regimes shilling and attacks of the federation
of Kurdistan and Kurdish civilian in Iraq.
We, call upon the Kurdistan Regional Government, Iraqi government, the
Multi-National coalition forces to stop the Iranian invasion and its
support of terrorism in Kurdistan and in Iraq.
We, call upon the UN, human rights organizations, NGOS and the
international community to put stop to the Iranian atrocities,
violation of international laws and killing of innocent civilians.
It is time for the international community to stop the criminal acts of
the Iranian regime and to help the oppressed Kurds, Ethnic minorities
and the peoples of Iran to be free and live in Peace.
