Anti-Lager-Aktion gegen Flüchtlingslager-Betreiberfirma K&S in Sottrum - Bremen

Seit Februar protestieren die BewohnerInnen des Flüchtlingslagers Katzhütte gegen ihre Unterbringung in einem ehemaligen Ferienlager mitten im Thüringer Wald. Sie fordern stattdessen die Auflösung aller Lager. In einer öffentlichen Resolution heißt es:

"Wir wollen ein Ende von diesem Leben voller Schikanen und psychischer Folter! Wir wollen in normalen Häusern leben und nicht in Baracken! Wir wollen dieses miserable Heim schließen! Wir rufen euch auf, uns zu unterstützen in unserem Kampf um unsere Würde!"

Katzhütte liegt zwar im Osten Deutschlands, doch der Betreiber des Lagers sitzt in Sottrum - gerade mal 30 Kilometer von Bremen entfernt. Es handelt sich um die Unternehmensgruppe K&S, einem der führenden Anbieter beim Bau und Betrieb von Sozialimmobilien und Seniorenresidenzen in Deutschland. Großspurig heißt es auf ihrer Website: "Der Mensch steht im Mittelpunkt. Unser Ziel ist es, Zufriedenheit, Selbstständigkeit und Selbstbestimmung der von uns betreuten und gepflegten Menschen zu erreichen." Ob K&S diesen Anspruch in seiner Betreuung alter Menschen einlöst, wissen wir nicht. Klar ist jedoch, dass in Katzhütte die Rechte der BewohnerInnen mit Füßen getreten werden - auch durch die von K&S eingesetzte Heimleiterin.
Bereits seit den 1990er Jahren gehört K&S zu jenen Firmen, die durch den Betrieb von Flüchtlingslagern und Obdachlosenunterkünften satte Extragewinne einfahren. Wir rufen deshalb zu einer Kundgebung vor der Firmenzentrale in Sottrum auf - inklusive anschließender Demo durch den Ort. Unsere Forderung lautet, dass K&S von seinem Betreibervertrag zurücktritt. Denn bislang verschanzen sich die zuständigen Behörden in Thüringen hinter ihrem Vertrag mit K&S - oder anders: Sie behaupten, sie seien an den Vertrag gebunden und könnten deshalb nur wenig tun.

Der Flüchtlingsprotest in Katzhütte hat bereits überregional Aufmerksamkeit erfahren. Um so wichtiger ist es, dass der Druck von allen Seiten erhöht wird! Gerade Dienstleister wie K&S sind druckempfindlich - denn sie haben ein Image zu verlieren!

Zeit und Ort der Kundgebung: Donnerstag, 8. Mai um 10 Uhr in Sottrum (Rotenburger Str. Nr. 1).

Sottrum kann auch mit dem Zug erreicht werden. Vom Bahnhof sind es 3 Kilometer bis zu K&S - am besten ist es deshalb, mit Fahrrädern zu kommen (Zug ab 9.36 Uhr, Bremen/Hbf - es werden Leute mit Ortskenntnis dabei sein).

Grundsätzlich fordern wir: Abschaffung der Residenzpflicht! Stopp aller Abschiebungen! Lager schließen!

Für globale Bewegungsfreiheit! Gleiche Rechte für alle!

Anti-lager-action against the K&S company in Sottrum which runs refugee homes in Germany.

Time and Place of the Rally:
Thursday, 8th of May at 10 o'clock
(Rotenburger Straße 1) in Sottrum - Bremen

Since february the inhabitants of the refugee camp Katzhütte are protesting against their accomodation in an former holiday-camp in the forest of Thüringen. They are demanding the dissolving of all camps. In a public resolution they write:

"We want an end to this life of harassment and psychological torture ! We want to live in normal houses and not in baracks ! We want to close this lousy home! We are calling you to support our struggle for our dignity !" http://thevoiceforum.org/node/755

Although Katzhütte is situated in the east of Germany, the company running the camp is in Sottrum - not more than 30 kilometres away from Bremen. It is the company merger K & S, one of the leading suppliers what the construction and running of social real estate and old people's homes in Germany is concerned. On their website they write showily:
" The human being is in the centre. It is our aim to achieve the contentness, independency and self-determination of the people we take care of." We do not know if K&S can live up to this standard concerning their care of old people. But it is very clear that in Katzhütte the rights of refugees are walked all over - also by the head of the refugee home whom K&S employs. Already since the 1990s K&S belongs to those companies who make cool extra profits by running homes for refugees and homeless people. Therefore we call for a rally in front of the head office of this company in Sottrum - including a demo through the little town. We demand that K&S steps back from their contract to run this refugee home. Because up to now the responsable authorities in Thüringen are entrenching themselves behind their contract with K&S - or put differently: They say, that are tied to this contract and therefore unable to do much.

The refugee protest in Katzhütte has already gained attention from all over Germany. Therefore it is important to increase the pressure from all sides ! Because especially service industries like K&S are sensitive to pressure - because they have an image to loose !

You can get to Sottrum by train. K&S is three kilometres away from the train station - therefore it would be best if you take your bikes with you on the train. (train 9.36 from Bremen/main station - there will be people knowing the way)

The rally and the demo are organized by the antiracist plenary Oldenburg-Blankenburg, NoLager Bremen and Karawane Bremen

In general we demand: Abolish Residenzpflicht! Stop deportation! Close down all camps!
